In contrast, this year there is still a significant amount of snow on the ground, probably a foot and a half of dense wet snow in my backyard. Right now it's raining and the forecast is for it to be heavy tonight. This may eliminate some of it and will probably lead to I some flooding.
The problem is that all of our snow, and freezing and thawing has created a virtual minefield of potholes, frost heaves and ruts on the road. It's as bad as I've ever seen it. So even it the weather improves, the roads will be little more than a slolam course for the next month or so.
When will we ever get some good riding weather?
